On September 15, 2019, Robert Pierosh’s video art piece, Memory (re)Assembly: Shellshocked, was featured in the Monmouth Museum’s Annual Juried Exhibition in Lincroft, New Jersey.
Part of the ongoing Memory Reassembly series, Shellshocked explores the trauma of childhood exposure to adult realities. In this first installment, the artist reflects on an early memory of encountering a soldier suffering from severe post-traumatic stress disorder—and the deep, lasting impact that moment left behind.
The piece was presented in a dark projection room, with immersive video and audio elements that created a contemplative, emotionally charged environment for viewers.
